Getting excited... buying lots of useful things to take with us.
Went camping last weekend to test out some kit. The tent passed, the thermarests passed and so did our cooking equipment! So all is looking good so far. Birkinstocks arrived through the post this morning too!!! We've appied for our Russian Visas and we're waiting for these to be returned.

Basic planning and variable dates

Born in Bournemouth in 1975 and grew up in the area. I qualified as a teacher in 1997 and have been teaching ever since. Thoroughly enjoying my job, I took the first brave steps to having a career break. Selling my flat and minimalising my belongings and gradually throwing useful travelling things into my backpack ready for the first leg of the journey on Monday 23rd July. So the race is on, flat having a lick of paint and onto the market. Fingers crossed! I can't wait! I'm escaping daily routines to see the world (well most of the Far East anyway).
